What is NGI Local for Local?

It’s a transformative project under the EU Commission's Next Generation Internet initiative.  It is designed to energize and sustain local economies across Europe using state-of-the-art technology.

Here’s a look at what we’re building:

• We are part of the EU Commission's Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative, dedicated to bringing forward innovative digital solutions for Europe’s local economies.
• Our goal is simple: to revitalize European economies using technology that empowers communities builds resilience, and fosters sustainable growth.
• We’re creating open-source, local currencies that keep money circulating within the community.  and thereby stimulate local economic growth.
• Stronger, more vibrant communities where local businesses thrive, citizens are empowered, and economic resilience is built from the ground up.
• We are a consortium of four partners: Centric, Delft University of Technology, Aix-Marseille University and Kaunas University of Technology.
